ENGLAND goalkeeper Scott Carson has one of the biggest goals of his life ahead of him this weekend – he’s getting married in Egremont on Saturday.
Scott, born and brought up in Cleator Moor, will wed his partner Amy Barton, an Egremont girl.
The ceremony takes place at St Mary’s RC Church, and some of Scott’s team mates are expected to attend. The couple will have with them their two-year-old son Hayden and the best man is Christopher Sharples, from Cleator Moor, a friend of Scott’s from schooldays.
Scott’s mother, Gwen, who lives in Cleator Moor, said yesterday: “We are all delighted and all we are hoping for now is for the weather to hold and we get a lovely day.
“Little Hayden is a champion lad – he’s ball mad like his dad and excited about going to the wedding.”
Scott went to Ehenside School and his bride was a pupil at Wyndham in Egremont. Amy’s parents, John and Joan Barton, live in the town.
Scott, Amy and Hayden have a bungalow locally and are at home at the moment preparing for the wedding.
Scott has just finished his season in the Premier League while on loan to Aston Villa from Liverpool.
Scott’s mother said he was unlikely to be returning to Villa due to the £10 million transfer fee demanded by Liverpool and was looking for another club.
