Meet Sellafield’s latest recruits
Last updated 15:58, Wednesday, 21 May 2008
THESE pedigree German Shepherds are being groomed to be top of their class....in the interests of national security.
The latest intake of pups into the Civil Nuclear Constabulary will play their part in safeguarding the Sellafield site.
All are from the same litter, four dogs and two bitches, and in the centre of the picture is their proud mother, Cassie, with long-term handler PC Colin Cook.
They were sired by a Great Manchester police dog – Riley.
The six new pups will spend the next 10 months or so in the homes of “walkers” who will help in their training before being transferred to the CNC kennels at Sellafield where they will be assigned to their own personal police handlers.
