A WHITEHAVEN father, locked in his house, was seen shouting and swearing at police while holding his baby in his arms, town magistrates have heard.
William Kirby, 25, of Windermere Road, admitted causing public disorder after becoming aggressive with officers, following a domestic dispute.
Prosecuting solicitor, John Coffell, told the court that the agitated defendant had locked his partner out of their home and was seen holding the distressed baby ‘’not in a secure grip.’’
When the police officers arrived, Kirby continued to be aggressive swearing and shouting threats.
Eventually the defendant handed the baby to his sister who had arrived, although he continued to be aggressive, struggling with police who had to use spray to restrain him.
In court, Kirby said he was “very sorry’’ for his actions.
Magistrates adjourned the case until July 23 for a pre-sentence report.
