A WOMAN was shaking and tearful yesterday, fearful for the welfare of her tiny pet dog Dexter who she is convinced has been stolen from the garden of her son’s home at Dyke Street, Frizington.

Lorraine Hargreaves’ dog, a three-year old pedigree Chihuahua, had been staying at her son’s temporarily while she was in the middle of moving.

“He was in the back garden which is totally secure and surrounded by a high wall. There is no way he could have got out or jumped over. He has a kennel there and went missing between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

“I am certain he has been stolen... I just want him back. I will offer a reward for his safe return or any information. I’ve been to the police but they say it is difficult for them to act without proof Dexter has been stolen.

“He is tiny, he only weighs about three-and-a-half pounds and is milky white in colour.’’

The incident is remarkably similar to an event in May when Stella Gill of Lingla Bank, Frizington reported the mystery disappearance of her pet chihuahua Louise from a relative’s garden in Frizington.
