Brawl in street

AN argument that started in a pub ended with two men fighting in the street.
And the participants – John Close, 25, of Moor Place, Frizington, and Craig Moynes, 31, of Fleswick Avenue – found themselves in Whitehaven Magistrates Court this week where both admitted threatening behaviour.
The men were each given a 12-week curfew (8pm to 6am) for the August 17 fight.
They were also ordered to pay £40 costs each.
“They were grappling and throwing punches, oblivious to traffic and pedestrians,” prosecutor Jane Mackrill told the court.
Solicitor Simon Smith, for Moynes, said: “It was an incident which boiled over into a fight and was equal between both parties.
“My client is apologetic for his actions.”
Ian Nancollis, solicitor for Close, added: “The dispute started in a pub and both parties went outside to resolve it.
“He has learned his lesson and appreciates it was a stupid thing to do.”
