Rungwe call to young
Last updated 16:11, Wednesday, 01 October 2008
NOW is the time to get involved in a local youth exchange recognised nationally as one of the longest running in the country.
The Cumbria–Rungwe Community Link Youth Exchange is launching its 2008-10 phase tomorrow (Friday).
Everyone is welcome to go along and find out how to get involved between 6.30pm and 8pm, in St Bees Village Hall.
The young people who visited the Rungwe District of Tanzania this summer have been recruiting new people for the link programme. They have been doing presentations in all the local schools and putting up posters. It is open to any one aged 15 to 17 and living in North Copeland or South Allerdale.
They will be working to bring a group of young people from the Rungwe District of Tanzania to Cumbria in summer next year. The following year some of the West Cumbrian young people will visit Tanzania.
