A CAMPAIGN has been kicked off in Cleator Moor organised by Copeland Council to promote recycling facilities in the area.
The aim is to boost locao use of recycling services.
The campaign was coordinated by Resource Cumbria a county-wide waste partnership, of which Copeland is a member.
A variety of events and competitions have been held – ranging from a plastic bag amnesty at the Co-op, to recycling clinics at a range of locations and even fun sessions with schools and youth clubs to highlight the reasons for recycling.
Copeland Council provides a kerbside recycling collection service of paper, glass bottles and jars and tin cans. It also provides other recycling points across the area, including the main site at the Co-op where, amongst other items, plastic bottles can be recycled.
Anyone in the area who does not have a black box, but would like one, can telephone 0845 054 8600 to request delivery.
