Sellafield unveils more new bosses

SELLAFIELD’S new operators, NMP (Nuclear Management Partners) have announced the second tier of management for the site.
The following Designate Directors have been chosen subject to full validation.
George Beveridge
Deputy Managing Director (Designate) – Transformation/ Support
Mr Beveridge has spent 22 years in the UK nuclear industry, including two spells at Sellafield. His experience includes plant and project management, R&D, and business management as well as general management of several businesses.
He was also a founding Director of the Cumbria Inward Investment Agency. Mr Beveridge has lived in West Cumbria for more than 20 years.
Dr G Todd Wright
Deputy Managing Director (Designate) - Operations
Dr Wright is the former Laboratory Director of the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) and Senior Vice President for Washington Savannah River Company.
He is married with three grown-up children.
Stuart MacVean
Executive Director (Designate) - THORP Operations
Mr MacVean has 27 years’ experience in the nuclear industry with a background spanning operations, engineering, maintenance, waste management, emergency management, decommissioning, startup and testing and project management. He managed the sole US fuel reprocessing facility.
Mr MacVean is married with two children.
Bill Condon
Executive Director (Designate) – Project Management
Mr Condon has more than 27 years of experience at both commercial power and government nuclear facilities. Prior to joining NMP, he was responsible for all operational activities in the Management and Operations contract at the Washington Savannah River Site.
Bob Bonner
Executive Director (Designate) – INS Relationship and Business Development
Before joining NMP, Mr Bonner had worked within BNFL companies, including Westinghouse, for 27 years. He has held a range of positions in operations, strategic planning, international relations, commercial sales and relationship management, including five years in Japan.
Stuart Blakeman
Executive Director (Designate) - Transformation
Mr Blakeman is a project manager who has been engaged at various times in all phases of capital projects, maintenance and operations, as both client and contractor and as consultant to both.
He has worked in diverse markets and disciplines, including oil and gas, building, nuclear and defence.
Jean-Paul Griffon
Executive Director (Designate) - Technical
Mr Griffon has 25 years of experience in the industry with a background in engineering, technology transfer, operations, maintenance, decommissioning, startup and testing and project management.
During his recent assignment in Japan, he directed the technical support to the Rokkasho-mura Reprocessing Plant.
He is married with two grown-up sons.
Iain Irving
Executive Director (Designate) – Stakeholder Relations
Since joining NMP in 2006, Iain has established an office in West Cumbria and, working with a wide range of stakeholders, has raised the public profile of the team in the local area. Prior to joining NMP, he spent over 16 years in operational management roles at Sellafield, including - shift manager at Thorp, special assistant to the chief executive, head of low level waste repository, head of manufacturing at low active effluent treatment plants and head of business improvement for production operations.
Iain has lived in Cumbria for over 18 years and is married with two young daughters. He is a director of the Whitehaven Maritime Festival Company.
Tony Green
Executive Director (Designate) – Chief Engineer
Mr Green has been an Engineering Director with AMEC since 1995, initially in oil gas and, for a number of years in the nuclear sector. He was involved in the early Engineering Procurement Contractor partnering work at Sellafield in the late 1990s and also has experience of the Windscale site.
Tony and his wife now live in Beckermet.
NMP has also announced that Paul Grefenstette will take up, with immediate effect, the role of finance director, following the resignation of Earl Ward last month.
