MUNCASTER Castle is bringing together leading scientists, psychics, believers and sceptics for a unique paranormal event, Things That Go Bump in the Brain.
At the three-day conference, running from September 18 to 20, believers and non-believers in the paranormal will discuss the reality of paranormal experiences, and hear the explanations science has to offer.
Muncaster’s Peter Frost-Pennington said: “Muncaster has a reputation of being one of the most haunted castles in England, providing the perfect setting for this out of the ordinary event.”
A selection of the world’s top experts will be on hand at the event to discuss some of the most important questions concerning the paranormal and human experience.
TV sceptic Prof Chris French is the event’s keynote speaker. Joining him will be Dr Jason Braithwaite, who has been investigating Muncaster’s alleged hauntings for around 15 years.
Dr Braithwaite said: “This is a great opportunity to hear from both sides of the paranormal spectrum. It’s going to be fascinating.”
Opposing speakers include Nick Pope, one of the world’s leading experts on the unexplained, who in a detailed talk will discuss how his research convinced him of the existence of UFOs.
Other speakers include Dr Christine Mohr, conspiracy theorist Dr Karen Douglas, Dr John Walliss, David Wilde and Dr Chris Roe.
Aside from the talks, the event will include audience participation, a wine reception and a gala dinner hosted by Peter Frost-Pennington and Dr Braithwaite.
Tickets for the event start at £75.
