Helping Mason help others
Published at 15:40, Wednesday, 06 January 2010
TRANSPLANT patient Mason Haley from Cleator Moor has been presented with £600 from two local sources, Whitehaven AFC and the Romar Innovate foundation in Whitehaven.
The money is to help him in turn to present much-needed funding to the Children’s Cancer Ward at the Royal Victoria Infirmary Hospital at Newcastle.
The money was raised from a mini football memorabilia auction held at the football club, with Romar Innovate Trust match funding the £300 raised for Mason.
At the presentation, Mason handed the medal he won at the Transplant Games to Geoff Nicholson from Whitehaven AFC as a thank you for organising the event.
