AN AWARD-WINNING female police officer has been arrested.
PC Linda McGeough, 36, of Barrow, allegedly crashed into two parked cars before smashing into a wall on February 9.
She was arrested at the scene and later charged with driving while over the drink-drive limit.
A statement from Cumbria police said: “She was off duty when the alleged incident took place and no-one was injured.”
The officer was presented with a Good Policing Certificate by Chief Superintendent Gary Horlacher in 2004 for dealing with an attempted suicide.
She will appear at South Lakeland Magistrates’ Court on April 29.
