Time to shout about it

THE BIG Shout roadshow is coming to Whitehaven.
The roadshow aims to make a positive change in the futures of young people and has been awarded an £18,000 budget from Cumbria County Council to stage events across the region.
Louise Burner, leader of the programme said: “This gives us a fantastic opportunity to develop lasting relationships across the county for our new community based programmes.”
Participation in the programme aims to get young people involved in the design, delivery and evaluation of policies and services relevant to them, by asking them what they would do to make things better.
Cumbria County Council’s Beverly Morgan added: “We are committed to involving young people in key decisions within the Council and this will build on the good work that is already happening across the country.”
The roadshow comes to the next Positive Opportunities at the Weekend in Whitehaven event, taking place tomorrow (Friday) at Copeland Athletics Stadium, Hensingham. It is part of a series of free youth activity evenings for teenagers in Whitehaven, alongside West Cumbria Police’s efforts to reduce anti-social behaviour.
