WHITEHAVEN juniors had great success and came home with 10 trophies from Workington Squash Club’s open competition.
In the F1 class, Daniel Harrison came out with the winners trophy and Aaron Sharp (who was playing in his first ever completion) came home with the F1 Plate runners-up trophy.
In the F2 class, Luke Guest fought hard to win the Plate final in a group that had some dubious F2 level players.
Kate Parkin competed in the Mixed Girls League and came away with the Under-13s winners trophy and Sarah Frain fought hard but just lost out in the Under-15s league to finish runner-up.
The Under-11s and Under-17s boys’ finals were all-Whitehaven affairs. Bradley Frain and Nathan Doran’s match went to a five setter with Bradley just pinching the victory in the Under-11s.
The Under-17s saw Robert Priestley and Michael Lowrey battle it out. Robert’s extra experience helped him win.
Windscale Junior Squash Club was represented by 11 of their more proficient players and came away with three titles.
In the Under-15 Girls, Hannah Crichton flew the flag for Windscale with a 3-0 win over Sarah Frain.
In the Boys Under-13s, Windscale’s youngsters, Michael Hobbs and Adam Pearson, met in the final, and Adam emerged victorious.
In the Boys Under-15s, Owen Barrett completed the Windscale title assault, with a 3-0 win over Mitchel Parr (Whitehaven).
